Here's a link to the surpluscenter gearmotor that I just found while looking through their book. You can get a left or a right. Right hand part # 5-1566-R Left hand part # 5-1566-L They list for $14.99 http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2008062517454820&catname=&qty=1&item=5-1566-L

Definitely cheap enough, are you sure it has enough oomph to turn it? Connection a problem?

well done Kris.... and dang! I just bought two used motors on ebay for a little over double that price (each). C

Erik, you and I are close enough...maybe we should get together and both fab our spout motors up...I have a stick welder (not very good with it)

Michael - Pulling 3-1/2 amps, that motor has more oomph than most of the others that have been suggested in the past for spout rotators. I have one of them that I am using for another application. It is a powerful little package. Glen

Great! Thanks Glen. Now the question is do I order a left or right hand?

Mike, you don't need much in the way stick welding, an anvil might help to bend a bracket to suit and that's where I come in.:D:D:D The drive coupling might be the most difficult to do. Anyway it is fairly easy to do and would like to meet you over a Eriks sometime.

What about a piece of angle iron? I could probably just bolt it down and bolt the motor to save welding all together. Any ideas on the coupler? Or do you just like a big hammer???sm03

Either will work. Look at both pictures in the Surplus Center catalog (or online) and figure out which will fit best. This will depend a lot on the details of your mounting bracket and connection to the. They are both electrically reversible, which is what makes them work for a spout rotator. Glen
