ZippoVarga Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Thanks to Reed and his NOS 24inch rotary deck with spindle I am now trim mowing again and my youngest has her Wonder-Boy to help with the mowing duties. It's an older deck with the "horse shoe" type belt guard instead of the rectangularish trapezoidish shaped belt guard. (And no, I'm not spell checking those two words..hehe) Along with the deck shell and spindle Reed sent a mystery item. I have searched and searched to no avail so see the post marked aptly enough...."mystery item". I know, I have SUCH a way with words...lol. Any how......here are the two decks. First the bad deck that had the bad arbor. I didn't find out the deck skin it self was stress cracked where the spindle and arbor mounted until I tore everything apart. So the new deck skin, although not asked for, turned out to be needed as well as the arbor. The Landlord nosed in for a photo-op with the old deck. You can see the spindle assembly mounting hole at the 6 oclock position is missing a chunk and the other two holes that were used were also stress cracked. I could have used the old deck and rotated the spidle to the 3 good mounting holes, but that new deck was just TOOO tempting to use. A little bit of storage rash here and there and missing some of the mounting pieces, but that was of no consequense because the old deck had everything I needed to complete the assembly. It sure is a fun little thing to tool around on. I loved my Broadmoor and Serf, then I got the large frame bug and the Serf and Broadmoor went away. Then this little Wonder-Boy wanderd into my shop and it rekindled the joy I had with the small guys too. Any how...don't forget to check out the "Mystery Item" post!!
ReedS Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Glad it arrived safely. It looks great all assembled and installed. Luckily for you the spindle came with a deck shell !:o) Enjoy!
ZippoVarga Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 You ask for a penny and you get a dollar. That never sucks. I am indebted to you and your generosity Reed. Thanks again!
