cobaltboatfan Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 What a country! Only in America can you get a great tractor like the 6216 for free, clean it up and sell it for $700!! With the $700 bucks I bought two more tractors (Montgomery Wards)!! I know, I know, they aren't the right color but they are made by Gilson and one has a front end loader and a tiller, and the other has a plow and a snow blower. Hopefully I can get the pics to load and find some manuals for them. I think they are mid to late 70's units, not much info on Wards-Gilson tractors that I can find. (Sorry about the mess in the garage-we are trying to recover from several inches of water in the basement). PS: Can't get my photos to re-size. Any suggestions?
SimpleTom Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 They look great! Try sizing them to 640 x 480 pixels. Tom
B-16_IC Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 If you got all that for $700 you did good!dOd I would expect to pay that for a loader alone, for any tractor. ;)
MPH Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 SINCE you got a loader I'll say you done well. First time you drop a rear tire in the tiller hole left when raising it and find yourself highcentered yo will be cussing that driveshaft system. The one with the blade looks be about a '77 model.
MowerMechanic Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 need any parts i got one just like it in the basement with a good deck on it. only thing wrong with it is the wireing
PeppyDan Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 What a deal! Both tractors look great, I would love to see larger pics of the loader. It appears to be a Kwik Way LOA 55 self leveling loader like mine. Have you tried any of the resizing software that is in the sticky at the top of the show & tell category? Dan
cobaltboatfan Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 Thanks to all for the comments. Peppydan-the loader has a sticker on the side "Garden Mark" which leades me to believe that it was sold by Wards. I'm sure they are not the original manufacturer, could very well be made by the same folks who made yours. The hood on this tractor was notched to allow the fitting of the pump on the front of the engine compartment. I'm in desperate need of manuals if anyone can help. Thanks.
