Jason Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi Guys Sorry I don't have any pictures but was wondering if $3,500 Canadian is a fair deal on a fully restored Simplicity Sunstar with 60" deck? Tractor is an 87/88 model. Engine has been rebuilt and has only 77 hrs on the rebuilt engine. Apparently the Transmission was rebuilt as well. The guy did a great job restoring it, I had the dealer start it, and she sounded like she was new, Has diff lock as well plus rear PTO. It has the brackets for the 3 point hitch but no lift arms( I would probably fabricate them myself). The paint job is A++++. It's almost too nice to use as part of my lawn business. I was thinking I could use it as a show tractor and take it to Simplicity gatherings or vintage tractor shows and run my 1920 Agco for my lawns. So what do you think? I am seriously thinking about it, would make a nice companion to my Agco Allis 1920. Take Care Jason B
Jason Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 Yeah I think it sounds like a reasonable deal to me, it sure is a beauty, seeing as it is rare to see a Sunstar in my area in such nice shape. I could have bought a 94 Agco 1920 with 60" deck for $2,900 but was not going to pay that as the deck had been bent in a few places not to mention the hood had been smashed to He dubble hockey sticks as well. It saddens me to see some people abuse these fine tractors in such a bad wayC. This beautiful Sunstar I found, I can't imagine what would happem to it, if the wrong person who is rough on equipment got a hold of it. Maybe I should give it a loving home?sm01
Brent_Baumer Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I know where there is a Deutz version of this tractor with new engine for $1200. At least it was there a couple weeks ago, but it had been there for a long time up to then. PM me for details if interested.
plastikosmd Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 sounds nice...I would have said 2500$ max, It is worth what you are willing to pay! (as I found out with my new/old ford truck)
acfarmer Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Two 20HP Sunstars on ebay now one going for around $1300 the other $500 and change going off in the 2 days or so.
Jason Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 Or I could possibly buy an AC 720 for $1850 US that is in the Classified Section on here in NY State. Going to call the guy on Monday.
