perry Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 homelite T13 tractor. im new to this variable speed control. when i move the lever it feels like it wants to grab but it wont untill the lever is all the way forward. the tractor should move slowly and speed up as the lever is moved forward correct ?. the main drive belt has some play. should the belt be tight. like i said im new to this variable drive setup, but i think i kinda like it ^. oh!, anybody have the drive belt OEM numbers handy ?.
RayS Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 That appears to be a shuttle from the pictures posted in show and tell. The shuttle drive belt is part number 174731. Belt length is 1/2" X 53.1"
HubbardRA Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I have the engine and tranny from a T13 in my 713S. The tranny is a shuttle. It is a single speed, not variable. The stick produces forward and reverse, The gearshift can be changed to increase or decrease the speed. The tranny has 4 speeds. Also you need to remember that reverse is the same speed as the forward speed. When you are in 3rd or 4th gear you will go quickly rearward when the lever is pulled into reverse.
