snag Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I put new points condenser and armature in the b-212 this weekend and got it to run(real rough). The throttle and choke cables are unhooked and while the choke is pretty straight forward the throttle cable routing is not so apparanent. Is there a photo or diagaram on how these cables route by the carb. Also thanks to all of the welcomes. Snag
snag Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 also forgot that while I was getting to the flywheel, I unbolted a fiber disk that seemes to transfer power from the engine to the mower. Is this a correct part. I promis to get my camera and make these questions easier snag
4xbill Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Glad to see you joined the club. Yes the fiber disk is standard. It gives a little, to allow for some flexing. There were rubber mounts to, but I can't remember which models.
RayS Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 this should help to see how to route the throttle cable.
snag Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Thanks, where im really having problems is right by the carb. I can't seem to find a good route so the cable doesnt hit the 4 inch wire on the carb
JimDk Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Snag, The throttle cable operating end with the two 90 deg. bends goes into the governer rod. There is a flat place with a small hole about half way down. There should be a bracket on top of the intake manifold elbow to fasten the cable housing to. Jim
snag Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 here is how the cable is routed now. does it look correct?
Roy Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Yes, the cable is in the correct hole. As long as the throttle lever moves the long link up/down without binding you are OK.
