BLACKOUT Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Do we have any board members garden tractor pulling this year? If you are pulling, how about telling us about your tractor and your success or troubles. If you have some pics of your pullers ad them to this forum. I put a 16hp Vanguard in my 710 and got 1st(21 in class) in the 950lb class and Junior got 4th(17 in class) with this tractor in the 750lb class. We use Carlise 23x10.5x12 tractor tread tires on widened rims, other than the 1991 Vanguard she's all stock.
bigtenboy65 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 i pull my big ten...all stock....with the origonal tires....i gets about 3/4 of the way then it loses traction....i pull in the 7,8,900# classes and this year i got 5/9 6/10 6/15...im going to run a little over 36 or 39 hundred rpms soon and get super lugs because it got a flat and the tires are dryrotted
BLACKOUT Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 How do you upload pics, I checked FAQ, but I can not find the paper clip Icon on the quick reply form. Could it be because I am not a member?
SimpleTom Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Yes, You have to be a member to post pictures. Tom
cub1282 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I just received a Simplicity Landlord 2210 from a friend today, it's in pretty bad shape. I plan on turning it into a pulling tractor for my daughter. Can you guys post photos of your hitch and weight brackets?
bigtenboy65 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 my hitch is stock and i just put a bar in where the hitch is in the back and put barbels in there
MikeES Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 My son and I started pulling (as something to do with our AC collection) 10 years ago when my son was 7. He is now 17 and not very interested in pulling anymore. We get out a few times a year. Dust off the tractors and pull out a couple of 1st places. I will sort through some pictures and post later this week. We have 718 3-speed and a 917 3-speed. We pull in improved stock, hot stock, and stock altered classes. So far this season we have gotten out 2 times with each tactor hooking twice that is 8 hooks. Of the 8 hooks we have 6 1sts. Other than oil changes the tractors have not been worked on for 5 years. The pictures shows the tractors with the 26x12x12 Carlisle Turf tires used for pavement pulls. We have Firestone and Goodyear lug tires for dirt pulls. The AC/Simplicities make great pulling tractors. The weakness is in the tube axle, in good shape it can handle about 45hp and no more. So the Simplicity drive line is not usable for the Pro-Stock and Super stock classes (alcohol).
