caseyblane Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Am I missing a part? Beneath the air filter housing there is another tube that comes out horizontally making a sort of upside down T with the air filter being at the top, the choke flapper being at the bottom and the carb on one side of the T and this other tube on the other side of the T. This other side of the T is open on the end, allowing you to see the choke flapper. Is this right or I am a missing a cap or something else? It doesn't seem that there is any negative pressure on this opening when the engine is running, but I don't want trash getting sucked into the engine.
LPH-5 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hello Casey, I think what your in need of is a Welch plug Briggs P/N 690627. If that is off you can see your choke butterfly. You can still get one from your Briggs Dealer, or a Simplicity Dealer, Good Luck.
Robert_Rainwater Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 If you have access to a hole saw the size of the open end of your carb, cut a round piece of thin metal, a little silicone, works fine. Robert
Vinnie_A Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 freeze plug for a car engine but make sure you get the correct size
