Bobbyb13 Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I found a 5216 5 speed sitting behind a barn at a friens Dad's home. He told me to haul it off, the transmission is junk. I had to winch it on my trailor. I was going to part it out. Well the thing started right up with fresh gas. I had a 5 speed out of a Murray. I put it under the 5216 and used it unmercifully towing and such. The local Simplicity dealer had a new 48 inch deck that had been there since he bought the dealership. He said $75.00 bucks and its yours. This moring I changed the oil, put the deck under it. I'm totally converted now. This thing mows beatifully. I have a totaled White with only 1 hour on it that was hit by a car. The foot control hydro, and new muffler are going on the 5216. I going to paint while it's apart. That's the tale of the old 5216.
