i recently got my 7016 back together after blowing the bottom gasket and was out playing with the tiller and the engine dies after about 15 minutes it starts revving up and down then acts like it isn't getting enough gas the governor hold it wide open and it starts to die out if you manually hold it at idle it will run for a Minuit or two then quits i have tried adjusting the float, and a new filter and my gas flow seems fine and i read in another posting to try a new plug so i did that too. When it quits it will start right back up and run about the same amount of time. I would like to get a complete carb kit with floats and jet but there are no numbers on the carb any ideas would be a great help.

Check the screen inside the gas tank. Mine was half plugged up and it would idle up and down. I broke off the sreen in the tank and put in a inline filter. Not sure if that may or may not be your problem, but it is worth checking.

Double check your points gap and clean them. I had a similar problem and swore it was the carb. After rebuilding the carb to no avail, I cleaned and regapped the points and voila, problem solved. My allis chalmers seems extremely sensitive to points gap and will let me know quickly whereas another simplicity in the shed hasn't had its points cover even off for atleast 5 years. As for the carb rebuild kit, go with the briggs engine number. Lookup the parts manual for it at the briggs site and call a local tractor store.
