blackfarms1 Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Hi guys. What can you tell me about the above machine. Long story short.. one was selling on ebay not far from a planned vacation trip and I got it for around $35. Says it was running when parked inside back in the 60's. Has about 12 attachments besides the two on ebay. Don't want to get too much $ tied up just have always thought they were kind of neat. Any thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sean.
arnoldir Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Hey Blackfarms1, Follow this link to the main simpletractors site, losts of manuals and stuff for the walking tractors. http://www.simpletractors.com/walkers/walkers.htm I would have dragged home every attachmetn they had. I have a Model V, 2 VC's and 2 Montgomery Wards Plow-Trac (model V rebrand). One of the VC's is 98% on paint and decals and has ben a shed queen since winning her on Ebay with 9 attachments. There are photos of one of my Wards machines in the Gallery (under my user name) that I repowered with a 8HP kohler magnum. Very usefull machines, I put turf tires on them and use to pull Brinley sleeve hitch aerator, dethatcher, and fitted a brinley box blade frame with a serrated "Dutch Blade" and it works wonders for smoothing up after rototilling in a new lawn. The V has dog clutches on each end of a solid axle, and will run nice and straight with a front or rear plow. Be carefull, as the clutches open up and she will run away going downhill. Enjoy yours.
B-16_IC Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I bought a model V last fall. Did my garden plowing with it this spring and was quite impressed.8D I own other brands of walk-behinds and like this one best by far. My favorite part of it is reverse!dOd BTW, I gotta see pics!:drl Are the 12 attachments all different? If so that would be one huge score, I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 8.
