IronPony Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I found an old Landlord 2012 for sale. Guy wants $250 for it. As I looked it over I saw a lot of dirty black oil hanging on both rear axles. What may have caused this? It has the 3 speed with hi/lo transmission. B&S motor that starts right up and no smoke. Tires are just OK and the seat, of course, needs attention. It has the rear lift and a serviceable deck. Would be my first FD tractor. Could not make a deal yesterday since I was out and about with my Dearest Darling on her birthday. Dan
Willy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Sounds like axel seals. A little oil and alot of dirt makes thing look worse than they are,I would look it over close to see if this was the case. The price is right as long as the moter isn't smoking. The axel seal arn't to hard to replace.
MPH Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Can't believe you haven't bought it yet Dan. Your first real tractor find.:D
MDB Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Sounds like a good deal too me as long as the engine is good.
MrSteele Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 My first (and only, so far) was marked FREE and sitting in a ditch. If Minnesota were not just a bit too far for a weekend excursion with gas at $4 a gallon, I'd get it before you!
