simplejim Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 im thinking there was a discussion here some time back about the little air cooled diesel engines they used to use as generators to power the flashing lights in construction areas along the road.i just found two of these little diesels and was trying to look up the thread but didnt find it.i would like to find some general info on these engines,power output,age,parts availibilty,pan style,etc.i have to go look at them in a few days and have thoughts of a diesel conversion bouncing around........

simplejim Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 thanks LEVI.was it archived? i did a search for diesel and couldnt find anything but i think it was just current topics that i searched,i didnt see where to search the archives.thats what i get for running in and checking in hurry then having to run again.there wasnt a whole lot of info in the thread though.i thought i remembered a longer discussion about them.i could be mistaken,i usually am:D.well time to do some net searching.......

plastikosmd Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 hey elon, workin on the conversion myself. what did you do to couple the driveshaft to the motor? I plan to keep the hydrolift so that will add some complexity and am making an adapter. also did you keep it govern control or change to a throttle?
