KSever Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 As some of you know my wife was transferred to St. Louis by the company she works for. For the better part of last week we spent house hunting in St. Louis after looking at what seemed like hundreds on the internet. We found one that we really liked and could actually retire at with 3 acres, ranch style, Inside four person Jacuzzi, 50 feet off the lake and a 22'X 56' outbuilding. We made an offer on Friday afternoon and man was Saturday a long day, one counter offer and by saturday evening our offer was accepted. I do have alot of work to do on the house in WI yet but I have taken time off work to finish everything so it can be put on the market. Willy Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Nice place looks like a lot of storage for tractors in the sheds.
Roy Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Think I like your wife. Let me know if she ever leaves you. :D Great looking new place. ^
ZippoVarga Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Are the MGs part of the deal? Sweet looking spread. Congrats!
Simpleton7016 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 very nice! Missouri is a great state...I wish I were close enough to thinking about retirement!
MPH Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Looks like a nice spread Kris. 3 acers is a good size, big enough for some elbow room but not impossible to keep up.
country Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Welcome to the Bi-state area! I live in IL, but drive 45 minutes to work in St. Louis, as many from IL do. I hope you enjoy your new place and are able to settle in soon. I know there are other members from this area, but don't really know who. Judging by your pic, your on the outskirts, and probably in a smaller town with 30 minutes or so of STL. You get the peace and quiet of a nice little place on 3 acres, but are still close enough to STL to view the city attractions if you desire.
Brenda Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Looks like a nice place. I could deal with sitting on the dock with my toes in the water ^
Chris727 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Nice place, looks relaxing! I didn't even know there was a lake back there. Welcome to the neighborhood.
Mike Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Unloaded the boat a little too early............good luck man in your new digs

KSever Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Big day tomorrow! Did the final walkthrough today and sign everything for the house tomorrow. Towed the trailer down Monday with the Ford N on the back without a problem (about 480 miles). Next week the moving company comes and packs everything else including the Simplicities and moves it down. I still have to paint the trim on the exterior of the house in WI but that should go pretty fast, then I'll be down here for good.
4xbill Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Good news! Good luck with the move and enjoy the new homestead!
Roy Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Enjoy your new home. Looks like a great place to be. ^
B-16_IC Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I am sure you are soooo looking forward to the day when the move is all over.:D My wife tells me moving would not work out for us, it would take forever to move all my junk! Heck, I still have stuff at my parent's house.B)
laytonlight Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Nice place! Welcome to Missouri! I grew up in St. Louis and live in Columbia now. Feel free to ask any questions. From the other responses here, it looks like we're getting a "Lower Midwest" contingent. :D Do the MGBs come with the place? I had a 66' MGB at one time. Sweet little roadsters, but absolutely NO heat in the winter. sm02
Chris727 Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Kris, sounds like I'll be seeing you soon, hope all goes well getting settled in. Layton, I'm in Columbia too, currently attending Mizzou.
69DEZ Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Very nice!!!!! Keep your shorts on when your in the water!! :O
KSever Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Layton, MG's (I wish) I had a 76 MG Midget when I was in college that my grandfather bought for me, I put a little over 70,000 miles on that car in one year cruising up and down main street:D. I wish I had it back now. My wife even had one when she was in college how wierd is that? We have been talking about buying one for some time but I think the Nissan Z or Porsche Boxster is first.;) Chris, I should be here permanent in about one month I hope. I have to go back to Wisconsin this Sunday to meet the packers and movers on Monday then they are planning on leaving Friday to be here in Missouri on Monday to unpack. I'll be back down here in Troy next Saturday to supervise the unpacking then it's back to Wisconsin to finish painting the exterior trim of the house in Wisconsin.
