dentwizz Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 info needed, landlord w/3 speed trans has approx. 1/2" play left to right in axle tube. axle hubs annd lock ring all in good shape trans works good, no oil contamination ? any info will help. The snap ring is visible and I do not remember if it was all like this before I replaced the main seals.
HubbardRA Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Loosen the set screws in the collar on the axle on the left side of the tranny. Push all the play to the left side, then remove it by sliding the collar against the side of the tranny, then re-tighten the set screws. There should be almost no visible left-right play.
