Guest Posted March 29, 2001 I just purchased a Briggs model #8 that has a very old Simplicity decal on the front of the fuel tank. Everything is on it, including the air shield that draws air across the muffler before it goes into the carb. This motor looks like it was a deep red color. What piece of Simplicity equipment might this have been on? Any idea how old it is?
Sandy_Lake_Imp 2 Posted March 29, 2001 Possibly a walk behind tractor. Check out the info & links about them on this site. Bill
Karl_Brandt 6 Posted March 30, 2001 The Briggs & Strattion model 8 was used on Simplicity walk behind tractors,Model F made in 1954,FA made in 1955. This is a 2 1/2 hp engine.Sounds like your engine was on a snowblower, some one has replaced the fuel tank at one time. What are the rest of the numbers on the name tag,I could look up when your engine was made if you e-mail them to me.[A href='http://www.geocities.com/simplicityva/index.html']http://www.geocities.com/simplicityva/index.html[/a]
