3212V Deck Lift

Never cared for the OEM flat bar and chain to raise the mower deck on FDT's. So, I make one that suits me better. With deck down:

With deck up:

Deck is for the 725. Made the "U" bracket, cable, and necessary spacers. Works good. Will find a belt that fits tomorrow and see how it mows.

One of the B-10's I have was altered in such a way that it lifted the deck from both sides of the rock shaft via a bar that the PO welded to the lift arm it self. I like your design Roy. Does it lift easier using the pulley as a guide? That's one thing about the FDTs that lacks a little in the engineering department. The decks don't raise evenly, and you can't use the deck in the raised position without the belt rubbing the leveling bail. Does your 3212V have the strong arm lift or hydro? Nice fabrication job....I've been trying to come up with a way to make the strong arm bar lift the deck easier and your design gives me a different perspective on how I can do it with a cable and two idlers. That should reduce the effort by 2, kind of like a double block and tackle. Carry on!!

Zippo, Tractor is a manual lift. I think it lifts fairly easy and I have two bad shoulders. Doesn't lift level but I can move the pick up point toward the center a little more before it gets into the belt. Am also thinking about adding a spacer block to the RH foot rest to force it level when raised. Really cannot run the mower with it raised on any of the tractors (FDT or RBT) due to the belt rubbing on the bail. Simplicity characteristic I think. Thanks,

"Nothing like using an RBT technology on a FDT, to improve it." At least I found a good use for some RBT parts I took off to both improve the RBT and a FDT. RBT's aren't completely useless. :D
