laytonlight Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Just picked this up over the weekend. It was in Arkansas & one of the few I ever see for sale that's (barely) within driving range. Most of them are in the Great White North! It came with a 42" Deck that, after I repair the bale on it, is a pretty good deck. Also came with a 42" snow blower. Everything seems to turn on it, I'll be asking questions on this thing as I'd like to try and get it running if it will mount up to the 2012. The engine is a Briggs 16 HP. Everything seems pretty tight and not abused on it. I'll ask my questions on it in the Talking Tractors Section. Just wanted to get these up here.
Chris727 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Congrats on the purchase, nice clean tractor with a newer deck shell too.
rsnik Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I have a 2010. Boy, that looks just super clean. The grill is perfect. The steering wheel is centered with the front wheels pointing directly forward (often the wheels and steering are off quite a bit). Dash looks real clean and nice. Nice exhaust stack. Believe me you will start finding some problems but with a super clean tractor like you got you are off to a great start.
bsggsb Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I tried to buy that tractor TWICE. It was listed and then relisted. I asked numerous times for an additional picture and the guy kept saying he would get to it "tomorrow" but never did. Glad it at least went to a club member!!
PhanDad Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Super clean tractor, should bring you lots of "tractor time". Hopefully the hitch and drive pulley came with the snow blower - many times they're "misplaced".
laytonlight Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks for all the compliments folks! I think I did as good on buying this one as I did bad in buying the Mutt, so I figure I've broken even. I can't badmouth the mutt too badly. It has kept the lawn mowed very well for the past three years. I didn't know what to look for when I bought my first one, but this one worked out. I wouldn't have had the knowledge without this place and the people who take the time to contribute. Thanks for that. Sorry about that, Brian! I sent you a PM with a "full apology". I guess it was my turn. Bill, the snow blower did come with the hitch and the drive pulleys and springs. I think it's missing a something as far as the rod that is supposed to come back to engage the drive. I'll post more pics of it in the Talking Tractors and ask some questions about it there. Thanks again all.
perry Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 very nice old landlord 8D
goatfarmer Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I sold that tractor this spring, to a gentleman in Arkansas. It came from Illinois, lived in Indiana for a while, and went to Arkansas! The snowblower, I bought at the local St Vincent de Paul thrift store. Well traveled, I'd say.....:D
laytonlight Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 Hopefully it'll stay in Missouri awhile! ;)
ZippoVarga Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Excellent looking late model round hood Landlord! Kenny...I didn't know you sold that one! That's a charm of a machine! I am good at buying them but for the life of me, I'm a sucker for the old round hoods and just can't seem to part with them once I get em. There's four 1964s in the mix and with my joy stick Wonder-Boy and my 400 Wonder-Boy, I'm all set. That is as long as nothing jumps out at me at the Tri State show next week. Hope to see a few of you there.
goatfarmer Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Yeah, I advertised it here, that's where the buyer from Arkansas saw it.
