Bailey Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I've a old 7010 that has had a vickers hydro unit that appears to be from a 3400 series tractor swapped for the 3 speed. Two questions .. First, how do I get a manual that included the hydro, since I don't have a serial # from a hydro 3400 series to use in the simplicity search engine? Second, the thing goes like he** in forward, but crawls in reverse on a grade. It seems perfect in reverse on level ground or slight downhill, but struggles up any significant grade .... Little help please .... Bailey
wilm169 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 The early 7000s also had the vickers in them. Look up your MFG# or 990759. then go to the home page and a box will open for the MFG# and insert. Its just a matter of adjustment in the linkage.
Bailey Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 Thanks ..... the number you gave me seems to give me the right manual. The unit on the 7000 series looks slightly different than mine ...... Thanks again ....
Bailey Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 Okay .... so I can't find any issue with the linkage. All the joints are tight, no slop at all. Neutral is where it should be. Also, it moves out at a good clip on level ground, which would lead me to believe the linkage is OK. It's only slow when your trying to back up an incline. Someone mentioned the filter, but forward is fast and strong and I don't understand how that would effect reverse and not forward .... Bailey
DMedal Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 fluid level is right? now that you've got the manual you should have the info on checking fluid level.
