Vinnie_A Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I have a cross drive belt Sim # 174911 and a PTO belt Sim # 164146 on my B 110. The cross drive belt will only attach to the 3 inch outer portion of this combination cast 3" $ 4" pully. I was told in a previous post that this should attach to the adjacent 4 inch pully not the 3 inch pully. The top BVG box pully and the bottom drive pully are both 5 inches and the center idler pully is 2 1/2 ". The cast pully on top of the deck is 4" and the belt currently runs from here to the 3" side of the combination 3" & 4" pully. The pullys on my B 110 & Sim 2210 are identical yet I was unable to switch belts. Are these belts and pullys correct for both tractors? Thanks in advance, Vinnie
gregc Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 According to the Belt and Blade manual the cross drive belt is correct, but the PTO belt is listed as #2121078SM which is an inch longer than the #164146 belt. The manual also shows that both tractors use the same belts. The parts manuals also shows the pulleys to be the same for both tractors. When I looked the idler pulley up it did show it to be 2.75" dia. though.
Vinnie_A Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 Greg, Is the cross drive belt correct where I have installed on the 3" cast pully or does it belong on the adjacent 4" pully like I was previousally told? I will try the 1 inch longer PTO belt and see if that helps. Thanks again.
gregc Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 It belongs on the 4". The 3" is to drive the sickle bar.
Vinnie_A Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 I checked the center idler pully it is 2.75 diam and as Greg said all of the other pullys I am are using are correct.I installed the above mentioned Simplicity belts and there is no way the cross drive belt will fit on the 4" pully ,it is way too tight. Went through all of the 60 used belts in my collection and managed to get the Sim 2210 to work using a 35" belt for the PTO and a 47" belt for the Cross Drine Belt but am unable to pull back and set the spring tension handle. It is either use the machines this way or be happy using the 3" pully instead of the 4".Thanks for your help.
gregc Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Vinnie, there must be some mistakes pertaining to your tractors and decks in Simplicity's manuals. I have found one Simplicity and one A-C 42" deck that calls for a 48.1" cross drive belt. It's Simplicity part #2108248SM. I'd bet that is what you should be using.
Chris727 Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I have a couple of B-110s. The belts used are rougly 35" for the BGB to PTO and the cross drive with 1/2 twist is 44." They both have original pulleys, I don't have measurements on hand. Greg, the 48" belt sounds more like the long wheelbase tractors, my B-210 has a 49" on it.

That's what I thought too, but the extra length is to the rear of the BGB in the longer side plates, right? Is the swinging part of the PTO mounted farther to the rear? The PTO pulley on the BGB should be the same distance from the front axle as on the shorter wheelbase tractors. There has to be some difference in Vinnie's 2210 that it requires a longer cross drive belt.
