TimothyAFrey Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 I have an Allis Chalmers 620 with a 600 loader. I put up a post because I had problems with my tractor only creeping forward which, thanks to the forums, I found out I just had to adjust my shifter linkage. Well, that fixed the problem temporarily. It started not going very fast and refused to climb any incline. Reverse was working great but then I lost forward gear completely and reverse works unless I hit an incline. Every once in awhile when I throw it all the way into fast forward I can feel it grab gear and go forward fast but then will just stop going forward completely. I noticed a drips of fluid coming from the transmission. Could the pump for the transmission gone out?
RayS Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Is it possibly low on fluid? What condition is the filter in?
richp Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Definitely check the belts coming off the motor. The clutch linkage dries up and it won't apply enough tension on the belts.
