Stuck Valve 7 HP Briggs ?

The valve twards the front of the engine is stuck in the up position and not allowing the engine to get any compression. Is there any easy way to free this. I just started to spray with Kroil, will this eventually free it. Thanks in advance, Vinnie

If you have not got the head off, some times you can put a screw driver in on top of it and push a little. I have had them pop right back down and work.:D

Pull the breather cover off and put a screwdriver between the valve stem and the cam follower. Pry the valve upward, and usually they will release and go back down. I had one engine on a tiller that required this every spring, then it would work fine all summer.
