drive belt for Big Ten Tractor!!!!

I am having a big problem trying to get my drive belt on my AC Big Ten replaced and working right and I am having nothing but troubles in doing it. What is the size of pulley that should be on the back? Mine is 8 inches from top to bottom. the idler pulley I think is being pushed down to far with thwe belt on it and causing the brakes to lock up. If anyone has a manual or pictures of how it should be I would greatly apprecaite any help. thanks scott

When you put a new drive belt on you may have to readjust the clutch and brake. Disconnect the brake and adjust the clutch so that the rear pulley will stop when the clutch petal is push in. Then adjust and reconnect the brake. The clutch and brake have probably been adjusted over the years to compensate for the wear on the old belt so when you put a new belt on it appears to short.

The tractor came standard with a 6" pulley. 8" & 10" were slow speed options & took different belts. Bill
