Tripoli Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Changing a K301 to a K321. will the adapter work from the 12 hp? Or can a fella find a adapter these days anywhere. The engine is coming off of a snapper and has a 1/2 inch spline set up. I could rig something but would rather go with the Ole AC Way. HEEEEELLLLPPPPP....
D-17_Dave Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 If your referring to the flywheel adapter then I'd say it should bolt up to the current Kohler adapter used on the 301. I'm not familiar with the Snapper 1/2" spline your referring to. I'm guessing your talking about the flywheel. Hope this helps.

Tripoli Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks Mike, May have more problems. motor mounts are different than the 12hp k301. its of a snapper and has a protrusion in the oil pan for the oil dipper on the connecting rod. And the mounting hole are different as well. any ideas?
MikeES Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 See if you can swap oil pans from the K301. Unless it is the narrow block used in the Cub Cadets, the oil pans are interchangable also.
