Time1992 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I pulled the motor on my 4041 to do the restore and cleanup job. I need to tighten the bolts that hold the oil filter housing/presure sender to the block. It looks like the only way to do it is to remove the starter which means I have to remove the flywheel. Has anyone done this ? is there anything special I should know ? looks like there are timing marks on the housing the flywheel covers ? Man this is a really tight engin design!!!! Thanks, Tim
tracktor312 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Why do you need to remove the flywheel??
wilm169 Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 You should be able to get to the starter bolts with just the shroud undone at the bottom.
Time1992 Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Well the shroud is off and it apears the starter connects to a three bolt bracket that attaches from the back of the motor , the two bottom bolts can be reached ok but the third bolt is behind the flywheel and I dont see any way to remove it. am I missing something ?
