i changed the grill support on my 64 Landlord. the old one had headlights from an rbt on it. i want to make a mounting bar as close to the original as possible. seems to me that there was a post giving the dimensions of the mounting bar for the round hood tractors. when i try to search the archives for headlight mounting bar, it times out on me. can someone send me a pic of the bar with a tape ruler beside it so i can figure the length and how much it sweeps forward? would appreciate it.

I made mine a little simpler, though not as pretty. I took steel bar-stock of the right size and notched it at the right points to bend to the angle. Then weld the cuts and grind smooth. It doesn't have the full rounded bend but it still looks decent and most people can't tell because the light sits on top of it anyway. Very well done, Reed. That is some good metalworking.

I have a 64 B-10. How much do you want for one of the light bars? Larry

Reed, How did you make the bends? Heat and bend? Thanks,

Roy, A few years ago I commissioned a fabricator to make up a bunch of these. I believe he said he ended up using an exhaust tubing bender to bend these up. Larry please send me an e-mail or pm for pricing.

if you want to bend metal always heat the side that's going to stretch or the other side in witch you intend to bend. in less you have a forge. I would make a jig with pins in order to bend on. that's my plan. forge and a pattern.

Would you be willing to take some pictures of one on some graph paper? Then those of us with more time and scrap metal than money could build our own. If you supply the pictures and scale, I'd be happy to make a PDF of a template for people to freely use. Doug

That is exactly how I was planning on doing it. Problem is, without one to trace or any measurements, I have no where to start :( Even a picture of one against a framing square would be a huge help. Doug

Its more of a clearance thing. The bend starts outside the hood width. The sweep is enough to put the lenses of the lights at the front edge of the hood. Mine worked out to be 15" wide tip-to-tip and 2" offset forward.

I have a pattern traced of the one that was made for me and overall it measured 22" out to out.

Hmm, I must have a bad yardstick... Here's what it looks like anyway.

I have an original light bar that I would consider selling.

For what it's worth, here is the post on how I made mine out of a piece of Aluminum bar stock for Ugly-Alice. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=100476&SearchTerms=light%2Cbar
