OrangeMetalGuy Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 The parts manual for my 42" deck shows what appears to be a very thin washer, identified as a "flinger". I have one and it's a little worn so I plan to replace all of them.. but what does a "flinger" do... is it supposed to fling the grease inside the arbor around?
BLT Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 A flinger is a real thin flat washer designed spin off grease from on the pulley side of the abor shaft. In hole has a very slight offset punched in so it doesn't scrape the outer race of the ball bearing when assembled. They are thin and you can probably use them over. Don Medal is correct.
Roy Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 What happened to Don Medal's post??? Just curious.
