I finally bought a good camera, and moved the broadmoor out of the shed, and into the garage. Here are a few pictures, and questions. The front grill is missing a small piece. What would be the best way to repair it? The motor ran good the last time I started it, three years ago. I'm looking forward to hearing her purr again. Tom

Tom, It looks like fun to me, I really like the Broadmoor's. My first one I restored I had bought 3 other Broadmoor's to make the one I was restoring have all the options they came with. Yea, I know I had figured out I had about $1100 in it when I was done. Now I have another with all the options that I been acquiring in the works. Question? Are you sure that is a 63, I was under the impression the early Broadmoor's up until 66 or 67 had the black dash?

That is what they told me at the Simplicity dealership, but if anyone can put an exact date on it, I would appreciate it. Thanks Tom

Looks like a great one to restore. As far as the grill goes you might be able to find a similar expanded metal material and patch it? The Tee-Handle is the same one thats highly sought after for the B-10's and early landords, usually sell in a set of four but the broadmoors only use two, the front bolts are different. Best bet is to watch ebay, there's been a lot of discussion of them, search the archives for "hood bolts." I agree with Kris, the earlier broadmoors had the black dash and a white steering wheel.

It is a 63, I learned something new tonight about the dash. I found the model number from your pictures listed here on this link under 1963. http://www.simpletractors.com/made_when/1957-1964.htm

This is a more complete picture of the dash. Thanks for the help.

Have fun with that broadmoor! They are fun little machines to restore. Don't see enough people restoring them. I restored a 707 in about 2 years ago, cost me about $100 for spray paint and some parts. Nice looking tractors. I hope mine turns out as good. Where did you get your seats at? Thanks for the help. Tom

I got mine from Simpletom and I think he got it from either Tractor Supply Company or Northern Tool. Only thing with the seat is the mounts are 2 larger bolts in the center of the seat so you'll have to drill 2 holes or modify the seat. http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_49402_-1______?rFlag=true&cFlag=1

I know where I can get one with the hood and motor, but the guy wants $250.00 for it. It has the hood bolt I'm loking for, but I'm waiting for the price to come down (maybe).

Nice looking simplicity broadmoor. I have several of these tractors in AC & Simplicity name. I'm working on restoring a 1972 Allis Cahlmers Homesteader 8 lawn tractor.:D:D Karl

Still haven't found one of the little tractors up here, starting to think they never migrated this far north.

Nice start, I have two Broadmoors, one had the electric start removed, a 32" mower and my son likes that one the best for mowing. The other is electric start has a 36" mower and a hi/lo and runs great. Good luck with the project, they are fun!

UPDATE: I bought a battery for the Broadmoor, and changed the oil. Now,I would like to tell you that it started on the first try. I would like to, but I can't. It seems they run better if you put gasoline in the tank, so, after adding a little gas to the combustion process, she kicked in on the second try. After running for a few seconds, she began to purr like a kitten. I think I'm going to like this one. Thank you all for all of the nice comments and information. Tom

I fixed several places on my 64 Landlord grille with my mig welder and a little grinding. It took a while but it came out well. Some spots were broken by 4" or more. As long as it is there or close or a patching material can be found I think it could be fixed.

I bought a good parts tractor for my Broadmoor. It doesn't have the hi-low transmission or original motor, but everything else is in as good, or better, condition than my original project tractor. Off to a slow start, but better weather should get me going.
