dulingator Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 New to the simpletractors website.Got into these tractors a year or two ago.Been viewing website and finally joined so this is my initial post so hopefully it works.Anyway currently own '07 Prestige,'86 Sunstar and and a very nice original 2012 and an 3112H that needs some parts since I got it for free.I'd like to get something that I can put loader on .On my local craiglist there is a powermax with hydraulic angle blade,deck,the 3 pt.is all there,but it has a 16.5hp.onan that doesn't run.Asking $900. Looks to be in fair shape.Reasonable? How hard and what price is it to find a loader for this.Thanks in advance.Brad
4xbill Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Definitely reasonable if in fair condition. You could probably sell the deck and blade for $350 each. More if in nice condition. Don't know what you're budget is, but you could repower it with a Honda for $1,900. I'd say go for it! Oh, and welcome!
richp Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Sounds like a good deal. The 19.5hp on the later models will bolt right up and are easier to find than the 16.5. Also the blocks and internals are the same.
D-17_Dave Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Brad, the loaders for these tractors are not real common but can be found. The size and rarity makes them go for anywhere between 750.00 and 1500.00 depending on the condition and source. The blades for these tractors were not hydraulic angle so it may be a typo or some outside modification. The blades were hydraulic lift, this may be what is described. The Onan engines are a little different animal than most small engines and require a little finesse to get them to perform as they should. But when this is achieved they are very good engines.
