Can anyone tell me if this tiller will fit?

I have a 1966 Allis big 10. I'm looking for a tiller. I have a 1974 Allis 610 with a tiller but that tiller doesn't look like it will fit. I found a tiller that is a 36" simplicity model 1691978. It is a long ways away and I'd have to have it shipped. Does anyone know if this would fit? I looked in the rotary tiller section but couldn't find that number. On a side note, I'm also looking for a transmission for my 610 or a whole 610 for parts if the tranny is good. Thanks for the help!

The 1691978 is basically the same as a 990503 36" tiller. I have both the 990503 and 1691978 tillers. I sold a 990503 36" tiller to a member here on the site. He has the Simplicity equivalent to your Allis Tractor. It will work. You need the tiller drive group that is in the picture to make it work and a 5" pulley to put on the BGB driven-shaft. That 1691978 tiller doesn`t have the engagement clutch on it. That is in the picture above. So you would need that as well. It would work but you would still have to change stuff on the 1691978 tiller. If you compare the two manuals below you can see the differences in the drive groups. WOW Thanks for the incredible info!!! I guess my best bet is to try to find a mower AND tiller so I'll have all the parts.....then I could sell off theh mower or use it for parts. Thanks again for the info!
