BrianS 0 Posted April 16, 2001 I started on my B-210 vari-drive today. I have never had this tractor working, but I found the bevel gear box had quite a bit of end play on the output shaft. By quite a bit I mean 1/4". I have a B-10 bevel gear torn down and didn't see anything that would cause this. Is this normal for a vari-drive? Thanks Brian
Sandy_Lake_Imp 2 Posted April 16, 2001 If the nut was loosened on the right end of the shaft or the spacer over the shaft behind the vatiable had spun & worn off the result will be endplay. Perhaps tightening the nut will remedy it or you may have to replace the spacer if you run out of threads for the nut. The whole stack needs to be tight- inner snap ring on shaft against gear-against bearing race-against spacer-against nut. Bill
