Homelite CT-10 Tiller Question

Recommended Posts

I have a 1972 Homelite CT-10 tractor and I also have the rear tiller. However, the tiller...leaks the gear fluid out when it is sitting/stored in my building. I know it is chain driven inside the gear box. But my question is...can I buy a gasket to re-seal the housing...or is that something I'll have to make myself out of gasket material? Or could I use some permatex or something to make a gasket out of or to seal the casing? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Clark (SupermanWV)

Thanks for the help...I may attempt to tear it down soon and create my own gasket. What would be the best solvent/cleaner to clean the gear oil and stuff off of the outside of the casing...where it has been leaking? Clark (SupermanWV)
