AC_B-1Novice Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 The big pulley shown in the picture wabbles so much that the belt won't stay on the idler pulley. Can this be fixed? Also I can buy this for $500.00 No pics just wondering if it is a good or bad buy if it is ok. Thanks
AC_B-1Novice Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 I forgot to post what I could buy. Here it is Simplicity rideing lawn mower, model 6216, with 48 inch deck and a snow blower that has had very little if any use
MPH Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 is the problem with your tiller drive pulley in the pulley or is the bearing shot? You might be able to straighten the pulley with some carefull hammering, likely be best to just find a replacement. If you found a pulley with a hub you could cut the hub out, drill holes to match the excisting and bolt it on.
nateb17010 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I bought mine at a farm store TSC, Theisen's, there just a stamped steel sheave pulley. all you have to do is drill holes in the new one for the bolts to go in. and just paint it. there black off the shelf. my tiller drive has all new pulleys on it now plus then you can grease it all up and have a new tiller drive.
sbull78 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 500 is a good deal for a 6216 and the snowplow...where i live just the deck with the tractor go for round 500-650 on ebay..they are a great simplicity, heavy duty workhorse
AC_B-1Novice Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 sbull78 Thanks, I had no idea what it was worth. MPH, if you grab both sides of the pulley you can wiggle it back and forth considerably. The pulley beside it also wiggles right with it. Almost like a washer that was put on a bolt that was too small for the hole. It really moves. nateb17010 I can check them but I think I'll have to first take the pulley off and see what I'm dealing with. It is really loose.
nateb17010 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 looks like you will have to dive deeper in it sound like some extreme wear and tear. sorry thought it was the pulley it's self.
