mooseman3210 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Well after about a year of waiting i now have all the parts to put this together . i was going to sell her but my son said no lets restore her so well here is the next restoration by the Yarnes family . going to take some time to get this one done . gotta learn how to work on a Briggs engine the last picture is the crew that is going to be doing the most of the work . we will keep you posted of our progress . well i got the hood painted and as promised i waited until my son got home so he could put the decals on he did one fantastic job . he was finishing up the second side taking off the top layer of the decal when it happened the hood slipped of the bench and crashed on the floor (nothing a little touch up paint can't fix ) but he was crushed he cried for a few min but i got him settled down . he is still upset but i think i got him to under stand that things happen like that when you are working on things . he is still upset but feeling better . he still won't let me take his picture with the hood but I'll try later . (I'm so proud of him did i mention that he is 7 ears old )
joshuaareed Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Looks like a great start Dave, and the boys look just like you. Did you get the electric lift all figured out on the 416?
xenon172 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Good start! I am amazed at how much the kids have grown. Makes me feel just a bit older. Keep the pictures and progress reports coming.
4xbill Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Forward progress! Never seen such a happy looking work crew!:D
Chris727 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Was that the B-1 a clubmember was restoring in his basement? Can't wait to see you're progress.
mooseman3210 Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 well we got the hood sanded and fixed some of the pitting that it had with a little bit of bondo work (finally starting to get a little bit better with the bondo work )turned out pretty good I'll post some pictures tonight when i get the decals on . Chris no that wasn't me i have a couple of 707's in the basement but this was stored under the bench and in the shed for the last year .. as for the kiddo's they are growing up so fast i can't hardly keep up pretty soon they won't want Dad around so i try to get all the kiddo time i can . as for the 416 josh i did get the electric lift working and it works great . I'm happy that i tried it again or i would have regretted getting rid of it when i traded the 314 off . thanks to all for the kind words i will need a lot of help on this one .. never really thought i would get in to this one but the kids are really excited about it .
MPH Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 The time your spending with your boys is worth a whole lot more then all the tractors you have. Fact they wantted to do it tells me you make the time spent 'working' enjoyable times in their minds, Likely will be a spell when they don't 'need' you, after they figure out they don't know everything, ie, grow up, they'll be back as friends.
cojo92 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 He did a great job with those decals. im 16 and i cant even do them that good. hahaa lol
