Sunstar Differential Lock

I have a '94 CH20 engine, Hi - Lo, power steering and NO diff lock. I got around a bit by tapping the brakes to transfer the spinning. According to operators manual, it was supposed to be there.

I see you made it back across the mountain ok. All 4 of the ones I've had did have the diff. lock. The years on mine ranged from late '86-'92

I think that I remember reading somewhere, that in the later years, that some of them had the automatic lock, so they wouldn't have the lock lever. I know that they used (at least) 2 manufacturers for the trans, so that may account for it as well.

I have an Ultima, and two Sunstars that have both separate brakes and the diff. lock. I don't recall ever seeing a 20 without the separate wheel braking. I think that was an option on the 18's, but again, I'm not sure. The theory I heard was that during the last two years of production, they ran out of units with the differential lock and just used up what ever they had left. Don't know how true it is, just what I heard.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
