This is my first post. What a great website. I have 2 allis 712's and also a 917 and am wondering if there is a way to push them around in my shop instead of starting them every time to move them? I was told there is some kind of a switch but I cant see anything under the rear end. I know one of you guys would know. Any help is appreciated

Push the free wheel latch down and it will be a lot easier to move around. It will disengage when the two pins on the charge check valves are down.

If there is alot of dirt or rust on the pop up tabs I would reccomend just cleaning them off with a hand wire brush and blowing or wiping them off before pushing them down. Sometimes when they get pushed down in after not being used for years they wont want to come back up when released. Most of the time from my experience this only happens to tractors that have set outside uncared for.

Thanks guys that's going to be a big help. I'm headed out in a few minutes to try it. By the way if I decide to sell it...I have a 712 hydro with electric lift. Not a beauty winner but in ok shape. Smokes like crazy but still mows and runs without fouling the plug! Whats it worth? Thanks again for your helpful information

It's worth what someone will pay for it. I bought my 712H about 10 years ago, from the original owner. Ran, needed a carb OH, came with a deck, snow blade, and snow blower, for $300.00

It's worth a lot more in an area with a bad mosquito problem, because you can fog for mosquitoes and mow at the same time.
