AC B-110 Mid PTO issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm a new member and the proud new owner of an AC B-110 that is restored to good working condition. One minor problem though- the mid PTO pulley that is secured with the woodruff key and a set screw that won't stay tight keeps want to walk out and throw the belly mower belt. Any suggestions on getting that set screw to stay tight to keep everything together? I would think that if the end of the pulley shaft had a hole for a cotter pin then it would all stay together nicely. Your help is appreciated! Eric

I think I have it worked out now. It appears that the pulley shaft had a lot of grease on it and so the set screw wasn't biting properly. I've cleaned it all up, made sure the bearings were greased, put it back together and used a new set screw. I've since mowed the lawn an it all is holding on tight.
