hey guys, i just bought a "used good running no problems" motor off ebay for my 6216. It is a briggs 16.5 horse i/c vertical diamond sereies. It is a fully pressureized system with an oil filter. Anyhow, i finally got it and exictedly, if thats a word, put it in. The install went smooth and everything hooked up great...thats were the fun began. i filled it with clean oil, put on a new filter, and started it and let it run for about 20 minutes. Checked the compression and just like they said 110 on each side. I then went in the house satisfied with the purchase. came out the next day and about 8oz of oil on floor under mower. Not Good. I am working with the seller of it now about it. It looks like it is coming from the oil pan gasket. How hard is this to replace. I'm sure it is probably a tear down, but have never done one so i don't know. thanks for your time..sincerely, ANGRY because i wasted all that time!!!!!

very simple, if you have already had the crank pulley off. Just put new crank seal in while you are in there.

Its not that hard of a job to do splitting the case but the job of removing it all again after all the work you did installing..wow feel ya! but well make sure its leaking from the case and not the side cover before removing it all.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
