Headlight bulbs for 3415

For some reason the PO took some of the stuff off my tractor even though it was apart in the barn. The headlight mounts, sockets, wiring & switch all appear to be there. Who knows what he needed them for, but anyway what kind of light bulbs do these tractors use & where's the best place to get them.

He removed them most likely for there value in money the bulbs in some cases are worth more than the tractor as they are no longer available. A set of four in good condition could bring $150.00 on ebay with the right combination of bidders. They do show up on ebay occasionally if you are willing to pay the price.

WOW that sucks!!! This guy was an old farmer and didn't seem to know a terrible lot about Simplicity specific stuff in general. Although someone may've told him or something. He did have a specific guy at the dealer he dealt with, so maybe when he went to see about rebuilding the bevel gear box & decided not to the salesman tipped him off. Are there any other commonly available bulbs that will work about as well? Or am I SOL unless I pay 1/2 as much as I paid for the tractor, 48" mower, & dozer blade together?

Thanks PhanDad. I'd really like to find a direct plug in if possible, but if I can't find anything I'll try making some lenses & housings as others have done. Any other suggestions of places to get bulbs, what numbers cross reference with the original bulb marked "Wagner T3606E", or other suggestions are appreciated!

Dave, A cheap (no changes needed) modification is to use 1157 bulbs from the auto parts store. There is no reflector, but the bulbs plug right in. These bulbs were used in large blinkers or marker lights, the are single filament bulbs. I may have the number off slightly (going from memory) but they should be easy to find at the auto parts store.

Thanks Rick. I might try that, at least initally if nothing else to make sure all the wiring & sockets are OK.

Dave, The number should be 1157 or 1158. Basically it is a full size blinker bulb. What you are looking for is two pins on either side of bulb that are on opposite sides of the bulb and on the same plane, not offset. Rick..........

If 1157 fits then how about some of these in clear? They will last forever too.... http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/1156-x30.htm

The bulbs also have to have 2 contacts on the bottom. One is ground one is power. The single contact bulbs get ground though the brass side case. The 1156 bulb is single contact and grounds though the brass base the 1157 bulb is a dual element with of set locking pins and grounds though the brass base Therefore neither of these bulbs will work in the stock head lite receptacles as is with out modification to the light socket housings.

I had posted about the bulb I used in my old 3416H to replace the NLA bulbs. After a search I found the post. The bulb number I used was 1006. Here is the post: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=27084 Sorry for any confusion I caused listing the bulb number as 1156 or 1157. RickS........

My Man!!! Thanks Rick! That's what I'm talking about! I may run the auto type temporarily, but will eventually get the "drop-in" replacements!
