hello all, i have a 1972 simplicity 728 that i love to death. has a newer short block and the starter/generator was froze and the wiring gone so i put a pull start on but in tired of taking the hood off the start to. anyone have any ideas? also would appreciate it if anyone knows where to find a gas tank, thanks

Take some of the guide lugs off a newer push mower and route that rope to the drivers position. Seriously, have no way of knowing if this will work. But I feel the rope could be routed so you wouldn't have to take the Hood off everytime.

There were some tractors sold with pull start that had a hole in the side of the hood for the rope to go through. I know a guy who has a 4208 like that.

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't the 727 come with recoil or electric start? because the Allis B207 did which looks like Allis' verson of a 727

I think the 727 728 738 all had electric start only, but it would not be to hard to put hole in hood for the rope to come through
