McGill 0 Posted May 1, 2001 OK, So after tearing half the tractor apart looking for the points and condenser (like my B110) I deceided maybe my new $20.00 broadmoor doesn't have points and condensor. Would this be right?
dmcluckie 0 Posted May 2, 2001 Did the previous owner of your $20 Broadmoor already convert to magnetron ignition?
McGill 0 Posted May 2, 2001 It appears that it has been converted. The Simplicity dealer suggested I disconnect the kill wire to see if that is the problem, I'm heading for the garage to try that now.
carter 0 Posted May 2, 2001 Not sure what engine you have but they are under the flywheel if they aren't on the side of the engine. Ron
Guest Posted May 2, 2001 Unless you want a lot of headaches or want the engine to be stock, I'd buy a magnetronic conversion kit. My 717 had the points and condensor and I thought that might have been one of the reasons why I couldn't get it to run three summers ago when I got it as a gift. The conversion kit worked like a charm and was a H**l of a lot easier to install than taking the flywheel off. ust make sure you get it on tight since I had to re-do it after a month or two. I think I paid around $17.00 for it.
