SteveP 0 Posted May 2, 2001 Finally! I picked up this 1616 (Simp 16LTH) non running and thought it would not take to much to have going. Well was I mistaken, this thing was more abused than it looked. Head gasket blown, fuel pump shot, starter gear replaced. And it still wouldn't run right. Finally gave up and took it to a friend who is the parts manager at the local farm store/Simplicity dealer (works out of garage on the side). In ten minutes he had it trouble shot. The carb was so hosed over we had to put another one on. Someone had been in it before, sure is nice to have spares laying around. Now I have it moving on its own power, just have to put it all back together and sharpen the blades. Sure am impressed by its short turning radius.
PGL 354 Posted May 4, 2001 To have all those things wrong, it must have kept on running in spite of them until the previous "owner" finally gave up. Congratulations on saving it.
