Rototiller to 3314v - What am I missing?

Gurus, I'm new to Simplicity and new to this club. I'm also glad that it was recommended to me. I bought a tiller attachment and have a 3314v. I also bought the rear lift kit from a local guy. It came with the tube assembly thingy, a cable and a pulley. After removing the mower deck I ran the cable forward and the first thing I noticed is the lever on the lift is a single bar with a hole in it. The cable has a banjo end. And, I have no idea where that pulley goes. Hmmm. What am I missing? The next thing I noticed is that the belt that I bought at the local Simplicity dealer is too long. Not only that, but the drive pulley on my tractor is a single sheave and does not line up with the sheave on the tiller. Again...........what am I missing? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! You are missing the second pully on the BGB and the pully set up on the rear of the tractor. And WELCOME TO THE CLUB

You are local so if you want, I have a whole bunch of cone clutch set ups. You can have one if you want. No charge. If you have a machinist, I can borrow you my rear pulley set up and you can have one made up....or I can show you a mickey mouse way to set it up to work for the short term.

Another local, Burntime, is the guy I bought the tiller from. He has the idler pulley contraption for it. We weren't sure If I needed it. I can get that from him. And the cone clutch double sheave thingy? I'd sure appreciate the parts. How do I contact you? I'll check this again tomorrow. Thanks!

A cone clutch is not going to work on that unless you change the BGB output shaft and the side plate between the BGB and transmission. You need a 5" diameter pulley with a 7/8" bore. Okay, I don't really know what I'm looking for then. I should have measured the shaft diameter before leaving for work this morning. The shaft does protrude beyond the pulley almost 2", if that makes any difference.

Yes, I'll need the idler doo-hickey. Have no clue what to do about the cone-clutch or where to get the parts.

You need a 5" diameter V-pulley with a 7/8" bore that will use a 5/8" wide belt. The link below shows a picture of what you need. Also needs a 1/4" keyway. Your tractor is not setup for a cone clutch. They didn`t start using a cone clutch until the 3400 series tractors. http://www.phoenix-mfg.com/acatalog/Steel_Drive_Pulleys_B_Type.html

Will I need a different shaft or plate or anything else as earlier stated? Will I still need the idler assembly?

Yep, Ray is correct. I think that with the idler pulley's, you can make that tiller work with your machine. If not, it won't take much. I think a conversion to a new style cone-clutch set up is more work than is needed.

Phoenix's keyway for that pulley is 3/16", according to their sales dept.

Simplicity has the pulley. I don`t remember the part number but I got one a few years ago.

I found the part number for the Simplicity pulley it is 164202. I was also wrong about the keyway it is 3/16" not 1/4". So if they have it with a 3/16" keyway that is what you are looking for.

Yep, I measured it last night...............3/16", which makes it a standard pulley.

I picked up the idler assy. from Burntime yesterday and slapped it on. Because I'm so impatient, I used the existing pulley to try it out. I moved the pulley outboard so it would line up and it works, sort of. I'll have to create some kind of belt stop to hold the belt slack up near the drive pulley because it runs all the time, whether the clutch on the tiller is engaged or not. I imagine this will only work better when I get the 5" pulley.
