Vac collector chute

Recommended Posts

Dik
My vacuum collector chute, the straight tube from the boot to the impeller, was recently damaged beyond repair. It was the type of chute where the two ends are wrapped into a tube shape and fastened together with screws. Attempts to fashion a replacement have vexed to this point, as the flexible plastic material cannot be found. Can anyone suggest how to craft a new chute? It would be ideal if the chute was semi-transparent like the original one. Thanks; Dik

I use a piece of 7" duct material. The steel type that is used for your furnace. It is ligth weight and is available at Menards. I bought a 60" piece and just cut it to size with a pair of banding cutters. The clear plastic that you are looking for is available from a Simplicity dealer for around $50.00 Here is some on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Simplicity-Vac-Tube-Part-1700773-NEW_W0QQitemZ180291620689QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item29fa37cf51&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
