Paint Codes

My dad and I are restoring two old Simplicity lawn mowers. One is a 1975 Boradmoor System 5010 lawn mower, and the other is a 1970 Wonderboy 315. We are trying to find the paint codes for the Simplicity orange paint for these two tractors. Any tips on where to look to find these codes or where to buy the paint would much appreciated.

Yes duplicolor DE1607 is pretty close.

OOOO There are paint codes for everything except the old "Cream" Color. Any paint shop or body shop can cross reference and match them. Here is the list: It depends on your year. There are six variations of Orange used and three shades of cream/white. The pre-1977 colors are not available from the dealer or other places. They must be custom mixed. The 1977 and newer are available from the dealer. The common AC Orange that stores sell is usually a match to the Powder Orange used from 7/1/88 thru 8/1/89. Hope this helps. I mixed a pint of Rust-Oleum Almond with a pint of White and reduced them with acetone (two oz./pint) and shot the parts with my paint gun. I think I got close. There was enough paint to shoot about five coats on all the parts.

The persian orange was for the farm tractors only. The color for the lawn and garden was corporate orange.
