Trans leak and removing hydro control lever

Hi my newly-rebuilt trans (716h) is dripping fluid (very little but a few drops a day) from the trans... I put a new gasket in, could it just be that I don't have the bolts holding the two trans halves together tight enough? I don't want to overcompress the gasket, thinking that could be worse. Also, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the hydro control lever from the side of the tractor. I take the nut and washers off, but the threaded stud appears to be part of the actuating arm (up inside the frame). Gently tapping on a sacrificial nut (to avoid thread damage) would not budge it. Any ideas?

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
