Odd duck?

This tractor is advertised as a 7016, but appears to have a 7100 series hood and is painted all orange with a different decal than I have seen. Is this a transitional tractor or half year? http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/grd/1463943102.html Enquiring minds want to know.

Maybe a 7100 with just some decals he had, or could find easy. That's why my 7016 has the decals on it it does. Just was starting in the hobby and didn't know how to find a lot of stuff. Just a guess????

No, it's a later 7016. The early--in 1975: http://simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1975/system_7016.htm The later, 1978: http://simpletractors.com/simplicity/new_in_1978/16_%26_18_hp.htm I personally have never seen that color scheme, however. Don't know if that's an odd ball, common, or a custom job.

Electric lift = 7000, I think all the 7100's were all hydraulic. I would consider it if I needed a tractor not too bad of price for a blower, cab and mower deck (good starter package). But a litle rich for a second or third tractor.

I just drove past that tractor yesterday. It is at a Lawn and Garden dealer. I was wondering the same thing about the paint and decals. I was unable to stop and look more closely though. Tom
