Tom_Byrne 0 Posted November 16, 2009 I'm changing out my coil after the mice moved in. Fun job- had to pull the loader off to pull the motor. The crank pulley is giving me trouble coming off. Does that require a puller to remove it? I was pretty sure a couple of shots with the hammer would do it, but no go.
HubbardRA 19 Posted November 16, 2009 Tom, It is like any other pulley. Sometimes they come off easily, and sometimes they can be a real pain. It usually depends on the damage done to the shaft and the key when the set screws were tightened down.
Tom_Byrne 0 Posted November 17, 2009 I pretty much figured it was just rigor mortis, but you never know. Been lucky all these years- pulled motors off a dozen other things but I never had to pull a cast iron Briggs apart! Thanx for helping out a part time member Rod!
