mower deck stopped working

Hello, I'm new to this club. I've had a Simplicity regent for about 20 years with minimal problems. The B&S 12.5hp started puffing smoke when started so I decided to find a newer simplicity. Found a 2006 regent in what appears to be good shape. Brought it home, changed the oil and ran around the yard till the bags filled. Shut off the mower deck, dumped the bags, went to start mowing again and the mower won't start. I suspect I did something wrong putting the bags back on or haven't satisfied all interlocks, but I can't figure out which or where to look. The guy I bought this from didn't have the manuals so I can't look up my error. I did have trouble starting the tractor too, weak turn over so I threw a trickle on the battery so I could get her back into the garage. Any suggestions? Also want to get the manuals and find out if my old mulch kit and dethatcher will fit this new tractor. As I'm new to this site and will stumble around finding answers, if anyone can help me please send me an email as well casmerage@gmail.com Thanks in advance. Charlie Here's a little more info as I narrow the problem; Took the tractor out again this morning and everything worked right away. Went to empty the bags again and the mower would not start, again. I messed around with the seat and PTO wires and after beating on the seat and spraying the connectors with WD40 I can get the deck to come on intermittently. I suspect the seat switch may be flaky or maybe the PTO switch. My first inclination is to replace the seat switch. Sound about right to anyone??????

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
