Rock Guard id help please (& early Feb. Birthdays)

I picked up a pretty nice Simplicity Sickle (for restoration) but the PO attempted (unsuccessfully) to retrofit the unit with different rock guards. Can anyone identify these on the left? Under the rust, there appears to be a turqoise color (not sure if it will come through in the pictures).

The number stamped in them is 02 04 39 - and Feb 4th is my youngest's birthday. If these rock guards aren't going to help pad my retirement fund, then maybe I will hang on in his room.sm01

Erik, There is a good article in the "Do-it-Yourself" section of Simple Tractors that covers changing the sickle bar mower to the large rock guards and section knives. It is a rather involved change, in that the stroke of the pitman must be increased to use the large parts. The name of the article is "Sickle Bar Conversion". Good luck, Jim
